Apidra Vials contain insulin glulisine, a rapid-acting insulin analog used to manage blood sugar levels in people with diabetes. It works quickly to control post-meal blood sugar spikes and is often combined with long-acting insulin or other diabetes medications for a comprehensive treatment plan.

Dosage:

  • Administer within 15 minutes before or within 20 minutes after starting a meal

Usage Instructions:

  • Check the vial to ensure the insulin is clear and colorless before use
  • Use an insulin syringe or compatible insulin pump to administer the prescribed dose
  • Inject subcutaneously in the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm, rotating injection sites to avoid irritation
  • Do not mix Apidra with other insulins unless directed by your healthcare provider

Storage Information:

  • Store unopened vials in the refrigerator at 36°F to 46°F (2°C to 8°C)
  • Once opened, store the vial at room temperature (up to 77°F or 25°C) and use within 28 days
  • Protect from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and freezing

Warnings and Precautions:

  • Monitor blood sugar levels closely to avoid hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia
  • Adjust doses carefully during periods of illness, exercise, or dietary changes
  • Be vigilant for signs of low blood sugar, such as dizziness, shakiness, or confusion
  • Alcohol consumption may interfere with blood sugar control

Common Side Effects:

  • Hypoglycemia, or low blood sugar, is the most common side effect
  • Injection site reactions, such as redness or swelling, may occur
  • Rarely, severe allergic reactions may develop, requiring immediate medical attention
  • Weight gain can occur with prolonged use of insulin

    Five Stars all the way

    I have been ordering from Canadian Insulin since the early 2000's, once the price of the insulin I use skyrocketed. Their customer service has always been top notch. Over the years, they have worked out a lot the kinks so that delivery times are much improved. The insulin is always new and arrives undamaged. If it weren't for their service, I would be paying at least 4x as much as I do now. Private insurance never covered my insulin and neither does my Medicare Part D. Thank you Canadian Insulin!!
