Uses of Trelegy Ellipta

Trelegy Ellipta is a prescription medication indicated for the long-term, once-daily, maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema. It is also approved for reducing exacerbations in COPD patients with a history of exacerbations.

Precautions and Warnings

Before using Trelegy Ellipta, patients should inform their healthcare provider about their medical history, especially if they have a history of eye problems such as glaucoma or cataracts, as Trelegy Ellipta may worsen these conditions. Additionally, individuals with a history of tuberculosis, infections, or immune system problems should exercise caution. Trelegy Ellipta is not recommended for use in patients with asthma. It is essential to follow the prescribed dosage and not exceed it, as overdose may lead to adverse effects. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their healthcare provider before using Trelegy Ellipta.

Dosage

The recommended dosage of Trelegy Ellipta is one inhalation once daily. Each inhalation contains fluticasone furoate, umeclidinium, and vilanterol in fixed-dose combination strengths of 100/62.5/25 mcg, respectively. Patients should follow the instructions provided with the medication for proper inhalation technique.
