Uses of Rasilez

 Aliskiren, commonly known as Rasilez, is prescribed for managing mild to moderate high blood pressure. It falls under the category of direct renin inhibitors. This medication can be employed either independently or in conjunction with other drugs aimed at lowering blood pressure. 

Precautions and Warnings

 Do not take Aliskiren if you are allergic to Aliskiren or any of its ingredients. Exercise caution when using aliskiren if you have diabetes, kidney or liver problems, low blood pressure, or if you’re taking other blood pressure medications. It’s essential to discuss these conditions with your healthcare provider before starting or continuing aliskiren therapy. 

Dosage

 The starting dose of Aliskiren is 150 mg taken orally once daily, with the dose ranging from 150 mg to 300 mg once daily. Aliskiren may be taken with or without food, and the tablets should be swallowed whole with water. 

Side Effects

  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Fatigue
  • Flu-like symptoms (cough, sore throat, stuffy nose)
  • Headache
  • Itchy or red skin
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
