Rybelsus

Rybelsus (semaglutide) is an oral medication used to help manage type 2 diabetes by improving blood sugar control. It works by mimicking a natural hormone that helps regulate blood sugar levels and appetite. Rybelsus is often prescribed alongside diet and exercise changes and can help reduce the risk of heart disease in people with type 2 diabetes.

Dosage:

• The starting dose of Rybelsus is 3 mg once daily for the first 30 days.
• After 30 days, the dose is typically increased to 7 mg once daily.
• If additional blood sugar control is needed, the dose may be further increased to 14 mg once daily.

Warnings and Precautions:

• Rybelsus may increase the risk of thyroid tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma. Monitor for symptoms such as a lump in the neck, hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, or shortness of breath.
• Use Rybelsus cautiously in patients with a history of pancreatitis. Seek medical attention if you experience severe abdominal pain or persistent nausea.
• Rybelsus may cause or worsen kidney problems, including dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and consult a doctor if you experience changes in urination or swelling.
• Rapid improvement in blood sugar control can worsen diabetic retinopathy. Regular eye exams are recommended.
• Seek immediate medical attention if you experience swelling, difficulty breathing, or other signs of a serious allergic reaction.
• Not for use in people with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
• Rybelsus should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless prescribed by a healthcare provider.

Usage Instructions:

• Take Rybelsus once daily, preferably in the morning
• Take with no more than 4 ounces of water, at least 30 minutes before eating or drinking anything else
• Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush, split, or chew
• Do not take with other medications until 30 minutes after taking Rybelsus

Storage Information:

• Store Rybelsus at room temperature, between 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C)
• Keep the bottle tightly closed and out of reach of children
• Avoid storing in high humidity or in a bathroom

Common Side Effects:

• Nausea may occur, especially when starting the medication.
• Some users experience diarrhea.
• Vomiting can also happen, particularly in the early stages of treatment.
• Stomach pain is another possible side effect.
• Constipation may affect some people during treatment with Rybelsus.
