Farxiga (Dapagliflozin) Dosage

Farxiga comes in tablet form which should be taken orally at doses of 10mg. However, when you are starting the treatment, your doctor may prescribe you start with an initial dose of 5 mg. Follow clearly all the instructions in your prescription. Farxiga should be taken with water once every day, ideally in the morning, with or without food. You should not change your dose or dosing schedule before you talk to your healthcare provider. That means you should not take larger or smaller amounts of Dapagliflozin than what was recommended by your doctor. Your doctor may change your dosage so that you get the best results. To remember your dosage, make sure you take this drug at the same time every day. If you forgot to take a dose, you should not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose. Instead, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If your next dose is near and you missed the last one, skip the missed dose and continue with your normal dosage.

Doctor’s Recommendation

The dose of Farxiga depends on the condition being treated, how your body responds, and any other health issues you have. Your doctor or pharmacist can help adjust the dose, especially if you have kidney problems. Farxiga comes in oral pills, which you can take with or without food. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless the next dose is near. In that case, skip the missed dose and take only one. Don’t take two doses to make up for a missed one. You might find a medication reminder helpful to stay on track.
