Lantus Vial

Usage Instructions:

• Lantus Vial should be injected subcutaneously (under the skin) into the thigh, upper arm, or abdomen. Rotate injection sites regularly to reduce the risk of lipodystrophy (changes in fat tissue).
• Inject the insulin once a day at the same time each day to maintain consistent glucose control.
• Do not mix Lantus Vial with other insulin preparations.
• Do not shake the vial; gently roll it between your hands if needed.
• Always check for any visible particles or discoloration in the vial before use. It should be clear and colorless.

Storage Information:

• Store unopened Lantus Vial in the refrigerator (between 36°F and 46°F / 2°C to 8°C) until use.
• After opening, Lantus Vial may be stored at room temperature (below 77°F / 25°C) for up to 28 days. Keep it away from direct heat or light.
• Do not freeze Lantus Vial. If frozen, do not use it.
• Keep the vial in its outer carton to protect it from light.

Common Side Effects:

• Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), especially if a meal is skipped, exercise is increased, or the insulin dose is too high.
• Injection site reactions (redness, swelling, itching, or pain).
• Weight gain, which can be a side effect of insulin therapy.
• Fluid retention or swelling in the hands and feet.
• Rarely, allergic reactions to insulin may occur, including rash, itching, or difficulty breathing. Seek immediate medical attention if this happens.
