About the Accu-Chek Softclix Lancets
Accu-Chek Softclix Lancets are used for collecting blood samples with your Accu-Chek Softclix lancing device for monitoring your blood glucose levels with your blood glucose meter. Accu-Chek Softclix lancets are precisely-manufactured, beveled 28-gauge lancets that ensure a smoother puncture. They are engineered to reduce pain with minimal side-to-side motion, leading to less skin tearing. The Accu-Chek Softclix lancing device comes with 11 customized depth settings for maximum comfort in different skin types. The lancets come in packages of 100 or 200 lancets.
How to use
Accu-Chek Softclix Lancets are used to obtain a drop of blood from the fingertip. First, you have to pull off the cap from your lancing device. Insert a new lancet firmly into the lancet holder, so it snaps into place. Twist the protective cap on the lancet a few times and gently pull it off. Next, line up the notches and snap the cap on. To select the desired depth setting, turn the dial so that your setting is in the center of the depth indicator window, then press the plunger on the end of the lancing device down until you hear a click. When the lancing device is ready, a yellow dot will appear and remain in the clear release button. If you are using your lancing device for the first time, select one or two to see if you get enough blood for a sample. If you have calloused or thick skin, you may need a higher setting. Be sure to wash your hands and dry them thoroughly before attempting to get a sample. Firmly hold your lancing device against the side of your fingertip, then press the release button. Gently squeeze your fingertip to get a small drop of blood, then apply the drop of blood to a test strip. To take the lancet out, pull off the cap off of your lancing device and hold the device so that the lancet points down. Then slide the ejector forward to release your lancet into a sharps container.
