Repaglinide (Prandin) side effects

The most commonly reported side effect of Repaglinide is hypoglycemia. If a patient becomes hypoglycemic during therapy, aggressive treatment with oral glucose and subsequent monitoring by a clinician is recommended.

This medication is generally well-tolerated. The most common secondary side effects are gastrointestinal. There was a small but clinically significant increase in serious cardiovascular events for those taking Prandin relative to control patients.

Although it is rare you may experience negative effects as a result of using this medication.

Common side effects include the following:

  • Blurred vision
  • Dizziness
  • Runny nose
  • Joint pain
  • Headache
  • Diarrhea
  • Back pain

Repaglinide may also lead to serious side effects. In case you experience any of the following negative effects, you should call your doctor immediately.

Serious side effects include:

  • Seizure
  • Sore throat
  • Red skin rash
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Fever
  • Confusion
  • Weakness
