How to use this glucometer
Before you use your OneTouch Verio Flex Meter make sure to carefully read your Owner’s Booklet and the inserts that come with the other components of the system.
The OneTouch Verio Flex meter comes with preset blood glucose ranges to let you know where your sample falls in this range. The preset low range limit is 70 mg/dl and the preset high range limit is 180 mg/dl. They can be easily customized to your own personal low and high ranges based according to your doctor’s recommendations.
To begin testing, wash and dry your hands and sample site. Then load your OneTouch Delica Lancing Device with a OneTouch Delica Lancet, then cock and load the device. Next take out a test strip from the vial, making sure to use the test strip immediately after taking it out of the vial. Insert the test strip into the test strip port on the top of the meter with the gold side and two silver prongs facing you. When you see the flashing blood drop symbol it is time to apply your blood sample to the test strip. To obtain a blood sample press the OneTouch Delica Lancing Device firmly against the side of your finger, and when ready, press the release button to puncture. Then gently squeeze your finger until you get a small round sample. Hold the meter with the test strip at a slight angle and place the test strip to the blood sample. When it touches the sample the test strip wicks blood into the channel, the channel turns red and your test is ready in five seconds.
